Illinois High School Basketball - Waterloo holds off Columbia
January 23, 2024: Waterloo, IL 62298 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Waterloo Bulldogs (Waterloo, IL) and the visiting Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL), saw Waterloo's basketball squad hold off Columbia by a tally of 53-49.
With the victory, Waterloo improves its record to 14-10 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Mascoutah (Mascoutah, IL) to confront the Indians in a Mississippi Valley challenge on Friday, January 26. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 11-8. Mascoutah lost 54-52 in their recent non-league challenge against Edwardsville (Edwardsville, IL)
Next up, the Eagles confront the Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL) in a Cahokia - Mississippi challenge, on Friday, January 26. Columbia will attempt to improve on its 17-5 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 8-16 record after their 49-46 non-league loss to Wesclin (Trenton, IL).
