Wakefield School Fighting Owls (The Plains, VA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Shenandoah Valley Academy Stars (New Market, VA), 48-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Wakefield School upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Fighting Owls host Tandem Friends (Charlottesville, VA) to play the Badgers in a Greater Piedmont bout on Thursday, January 25. The Badgers come into the bout with a record of 3-4. Tandem Friends won 67-64 in their recent non-league bout against Veritas School (Richmond, VA)

Next up, the Stars play the St. John's Saints Saints (Front Royal, VA) in a Freelance bout, on Thursday, January 25. Shenandoah Valley Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Saints come into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 52-35 league win over Legacy Christian Academy (Stephens City, VA).
