Alaska High School Basketball - Valdez triumphant over Glennallen
January 23, 2025: Glennallen, AK 99588 The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Valdez Buccaneers (Valdez, AK) and the host Glennallen Panthers (Glennallen, AK), observed Valdez's basketball team overwhelm Glennallen by a score of 65-21.
The Buccaneers (3-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Delta (Delta Junction, AK). The Huskies come into the 3A Aurora challenge with a 4-4 record. In their last challenge, Delta was routed by North Pole (North Pole, AK), 77-49, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Panthers battle the Nenana Lynx (Nenana, AK) in a 2A Interior challenge, on Friday, January 24. Glennallen will attempt to improve on its 1-5 season record. The Lynx come into the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 64-43 non-league loss to Nunamiut (Anaktuvik Pass, AK).
