Virginia High School Basketball - Nelson County bests Buckingham
January 23, 2025: Buckingham, VA 23921 The Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) basketball toppled the host Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA), 61-41 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Governors now possess a 6-4 record. They play next when they host Chatham for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 28. Nelson County will play a Cavaliers team coming off a 56-51 non-league loss to Altavista (Altavista, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 4-9.
With the loss, Buckingham falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Knights host Cumberland (Cumberland, VA) to play the Dukes in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 25. The Dukes go into the bout with a record of 6-5. Cumberland won 42-33 in their recent non-league bout against Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA)
