New Mexico High School Basketball - Maxwell tops Clayton
January 24, 2023: Clayton, NM 88415 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Maxwell Bears (Maxwell, NM) and the host Clayton Yellowjackets (Clayton, NM), saw Maxwell's basketball squad knock off Clayton by a count of 77-67.
With the victory, Maxwell upgrades its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Springer (Springer, NM) to play the Red Devils in a A District 5 challenge on Thursday, January 26. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a record of 8-7. Springer lost 69-43 in their recent league challenge against Des Moines (Des Moines, NM)
Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Texico Wolverines (Texico, NM) in a 2A District 6 challenge, on Thursday, January 26. Clayton will attempt to upgrade on its 12-6 season record. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a 11-8 record after their 61-50 non-league win over Jal (Jal, NM).
