Kentucky High School Basketball - Fleming County holds off Russell

Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Fleming County Panthers (Flemingsburg, KY) and the host Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY), saw Fleming County's basketball squad hold off Russell by a tally of 66-61.

With the victory, Fleming County improves its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Rowan County (Morehead, KY) to confront the Vikings in a District 61 challenge on Friday, January 28. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 8-14. Rowan County won 55-48 in their recent league challenge against Menifee County (Frenchburg, KY)

Next up, the Red Devils confront the Lewis County Lions (Vanceburg, KY) in a District 63 challenge, on Thursday, January 27. Russell will attempt to improve on its 10-4 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 4-11 record after their 59-53 non-league win over Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY).
