Virginia High School Basketball - Galax overwhelmed by Carroll County
January 25, 2024: Galax, VA 24333 The Galax Maroon Tide basketball team (Galax, VA), was overwhelmed 60-38 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA)
The Cavaliers now possess a 16-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host James River for a Three Rivers battle on Friday, January 26. Carroll County will confront a Knights team coming off a 55-36 league loss to Alleghany (Covington, VA). The Knights record now stands at 5-14.
The Maroon Tide (5-9) will now prepare for their battle against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Bears come into the Mountain Empire battle with a 5-12 record. In their last battle, Bland County was overwhelmed by Grayson County (Independence, VA), 50-36, in a league battle.
