Virginia High School Basketball - Steward nudges Hopewell

The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Steward Spartans (Richmond, VA) and the visiting Hopewell Blue Devils (Hopewell, VA), observed Steward's basketball team edge Hopewell by a score of 55-48.

The Spartans (12-4) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Christopher's (Richmond, VA). The Saints come into the non-league challenge with a 14-2 record. In their last challenge, St. Christopher's was tipped by John Marshall (Richmond, VA), 86-62, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Blue Devils encounter the Dinwiddie Generals (Dinwiddie, VA) in a Central challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Hopewell will attempt to improve on its 12-2 season record. The Generals come into the challenge with a 8-4 record after their 70-49 league win over Matoaca (Chesterfield, VA).
