January 25, 2025: Underwood, IA 51576 Harlan Cyclones (Harlan, IA) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Underwood Eagles (Underwood, IA), 52-34 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Harlan upgrades its record to 12-3 on the year. The Cyclones host Denison-Schleswig (Denison, IA) to face the Monarchs in a Hawkeye Ten match on Tuesday, January 28. The Monarchs enter the match with a record of 2-12. Denison-Schleswig lost 68-23 in their recent league match against St. Albert (Council Bluffs, IA)
The Eagles now sport a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Westwood for a non-league match on Monday, January 27. Underwood will face a Rebels squad coming off a 55-36 league loss to Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto/Charter Oak-Ute (Mapleton, IA). The Rebels record now stands at 11-3.
