January 26, 2022: Avella, PA 15312 The Avella Eagles basketball team (Avella, PA), was overwhelmed 91-26 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the visiting Northgate Flames (Pittsburgh, PA)
The Flames now possess a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Carlynton for a WPIAL 2A 2 battle on Friday, January 28. Northgate will confront a Cougars team coming off a 58-46 non-league loss to Avonworth (Pittsburgh, PA). The Cougars record now stands at 10-1.
The Eagles (1-16) will now prepare for their battle against Mapletown (Greensboro, PA). The Maples come into the WPIAL 1A 2 battle with a 7-4 record. In their last battle, Mapletown was overwhelmed by Bentworth (Bentleyville, PA), 48-30, in a non-league battle.
