Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Elkton holds off Oxford
January 26, 2023: Oxford, PA 19363 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Elkton Golden Elks (Elkton, MD) and the host Oxford Hornets (Oxford, PA), saw Elkton's basketball squad hold off Oxford by a tally of 62-55.
With the victory, Elkton improves its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Golden Elks travel to Joppatowne (Joppa, MD) to confront the Mariners in a Upper Chesapeake Bay - Chesapeake challenge on Friday, January 27. The Mariners come into the challenge with a record of 2-11. Joppatowne won 74-61 in their recent non-league challenge against Coppin Academy (Baltimore, MD)
Next up, the Hornets confront the Avon Grove Red Devils (West Grove, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 28. Oxford will attempt to improve on its 1-16 season record. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a 3-12 record after their 71-53 league loss to East (West Chester, PA).
