January 26, 2023: Fort Defiance, VA 24437 In Thursday's non-league outing, the Fort Defiance Indians (Fort Defiance, VA) basketball squad felled the visiting Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA), by a margin of 59-46.
The Indians (10-7) will now prepare for their outing against Riverheads (Staunton, VA). The Gladiators go into the non-league outing with a 6-9 record. In their last outing, Riverheads was beaten by Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA), 51-45, in a league outing.
The Mustangs now own a 3-13 record. They play next when they host Albemarle for a Jefferson outing on Friday, January 27. Monticello will clash with a Patriots squad coming off a 69-63 league win over Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 15-2.
