The Morgan Township Cherokees (Valparaiso, IN) basketball nipped the visiting Lowell Red Devils (Lowell, IN), 49-44 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Cherokees (13-7) will now prepare for their test against Boone Grove (Valparaiso, IN). The Wolves go into the non-league test with a 6-13 record. In their last test, Boone Grove was tipped by Kouts (Kouts, IN), 56-30, in a league test.

The Red Devils now own a 9-14 record. They play next when they travel to Chesterton for a non-league test on Wednesday, February 1. Lowell will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 57-46 non-league loss to Andrean (Merrillville, IN). The Trojans record now stands at 15-8.
