Oklahoma High School Basketball - Merritt holds off Hammon
January 26, 2024: Elk City, OK 73644 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Merritt Oilers (Elk City, OK) and the visiting Hammon Warriors (Hammon, OK), saw Merritt's basketball squad hold off Hammon by a tally of 32-30.
With the victory, Merritt improves its record to 11-8 on the campaign. The Oilers host Hobart (Hobart, OK) to confront the Bearcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a record of 16-1.
Next up, the Warriors confront the Canute Trojans (Canute, OK) in a Five County challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Hammon will attempt to improve on its 8-9 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 13-6 record after their 75-54 non-league win over Cordell (Cordell, OK).
