In Friday's league match, the visiting Slidell Tigers basketball team scored a tight 48-47 triumph over the Hammond Tornadoes.

In their next game, the Tigers meet the Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA) in a 5A District 6 match, on Tuesday, January 30. Slidell will attempt to move on its 20-9 season record. The Green Wave enter the match with a 20-4 record after their 86-57 non-league win over Peabody (Alexandria, LA).

With the defeat, Hammond moves to 14-11 on the year. The Tornadoes travel to Covington (Covington, LA) to meet the Lions in a 5A District 6 match on Tuesday, January 30.
