In Friday's non-league outing, the Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY) basketball squad beat the visiting University Hawks (Morgantown, WV), by a margin of 83-75.

The Lions (16-5) will now prepare for their outing against Huntington (Huntington, WV). The Highlanders go into the non-league outing with a 5-6 record. In their last outing, Huntington defeated St. Joseph Central (Huntington, WV), 52-44, in a non-league outing.
