Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Central Valley Wildcats (Stuart, IA), 47-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Van Meter upgrades its record to 9-8 on the season. The Bulldogs host Des Moines Christian (Des Moines, IA) to play the Lions in a West Central bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 14-1. Des Moines Christian won 63-29 in their recent league bout against Ogden (Ogden, IA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Glidden-Ralston Wildcats (Glidden, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. West Central Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 4-13 record after their 55-52 non-league loss to Ogden (Ogden, IA).
