Illinois High School Basketball - Southwestern ripped by Jersey
January 27, 2022: Piasa, IL 62079 The Jersey Panthers basketball team scored 55 points and held the host Southwestern Piasa Birds to 34 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Panthers now sport a 10-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Highland for a Mississippi Valley contest on Friday, January 28. Jersey will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 68-42 non-league loss to Collinsville (Collinsville, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 9-14.
The Piasa Birds (9-14) will now prepare for their contest against Bunker Hill (Bunker Hill, IL). The Minutemen enter the non-league contest with a 7-15 record. In their last contest, Bunker Hill was routed by Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL), 60-46, in a league contest.
