The Southside Sharks basketball team scored 56 points and restricted the visiting Carencro Bears to 45 in the Sharks league victory on Friday.

The Sharks now sport a 9-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Amite for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 28. Southside will battle a Warriors team coming off a 61-50 league win over Pine (Franklinton, LA). The Warriors record now stands at 6-10.

The Bears (9-9) will now prepare for their contest against Sulphur (Sulphur, LA). The Golden Tors come into the 5A District 3 contest with a 19-5 record. In their last contest, Sulphur prevailed over Lafayette (Lafayette, LA), 47-42, in a league contest.
