Joppatowne Mariners (Joppa, MD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Elkton Golden Elks (Elkton, MD), 70-62 in a league bout.

With the win, Joppatowne upgrades its record to 3-11 on the season. The Mariners travel to Edgewood (Edgewood, MD) to clash with the Rams in a Upper Chesapeake Bay - Chesapeake bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 7-8. Edgewood lost 52-50 in their recent league bout against C. Milton Wright (Bel Air, MD)
