Maryland High School Basketball - Bishop O'Connell fells The Academy of the Holy Cross
January 27, 2023: Kensington, MD 20895 Bishop O'Connell Knights (Arlington, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host The Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans (Kensington, MD), 63-45 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Bishop O'Connell upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Knights host Archbishop Carroll (Washington, DC) to play the Lions in a DCSAA bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 12-8. Archbishop Carroll lost 62-24 in their recent league bout against Paul VI (Chantilly, VA)
Next up, the Tartans play the St. Mary's Ryken Knights (Leonardtown, MD) in a Washington Catholic bout, on Tuesday, January 31. The Academy of the Holy Cross will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 8-12 record after their 73-54 league loss to Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD).
