Illinois High School Basketball - Canton holds off Geneseo
January 27, 2024: Geneseo, IL 61254 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Canton Little Giants (Canton, IL) and the host Geneseo Maple Leafs (Geneseo, IL), saw Canton's basketball squad hold off Geneseo by a tally of 44-43.
With the victory, Canton improves its record to 8-16 on the campaign. The Little Giants host Dunlap (Dunlap, IL) to confront the Eagles in a Mid-Illini challenge on Wednesday, January 31. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 10-12. Dunlap won 63-45 in their recent non-league challenge against Deer Creek-Mackinaw (Mackinaw, IL)
Next up, the Maple Leafs confront the Galesburg Silver Streaks (Galesburg, IL) in a Western Big 6 challenge, on Monday, January 29. Geneseo will attempt to improve on its 2-17 season record. The Silver Streaks come into the challenge with a 5-18 record after their 69-63 non-league loss to Peoria (Peoria, IL).
