January 27, 2024: Huntington, WV 25704 The Capital Cougars basketball team (Charleston, WV), was overwhelmed 87-63 in Saturday's league battle with the host Spring Valley Timberwolves (Huntington, WV)
The Timberwolves now possess a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Albans for a Mountain State battle on Monday, January 29. Spring Valley will confront a Red Dragons team coming off a 81-45 non-league win over Teays Valley Christian (Scott Depot, WV). The Red Dragons record now stands at 8-5.
The Cougars (2-7) will now prepare for their battle against South Charleston (South Charleston, WV). The Black Eagles come into the Mountain State battle with a 7-6 record. In their last battle, South Charleston trounced Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV), 61-45, in a non-league battle.
