Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings (Decorah, IA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Hempstead Mustangs (Dubuque, IA), 80-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Decorah-North Winneshiek upgrades its record to 14-1 on the season. The Vikings host Chatfield (Chatfield, MN) to play the Gophers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Gophers go into the bout with a record of 4-18. Chatfield lost 87-63 in their recent league bout against Lewiston-Altura (Lewiston, MN)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Dubuque Senior Rams (Dubuque, IA) in a Mississippi Valley bout, on Friday, February 2. Hempstead will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record.
