Iowa High School Basketball - Sigourney triumphant over Highland
January 27, 2025: Riverside, IA 52327 The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Sigourney Savages (Sigourney, IA) and the host Highland Huskies (Riverside, IA), observed Sigourney's basketball team overwhelm Highland by a score of 77-49.
The Savages (13-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, IA). The Plainsmen come into the South Iowa Cedar challenge with a 3-13 record. In their last challenge, Belle Plaine was routed by English Valleys (North English, IA), 61-53, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Huskies encounter the Pekin Panthers (Packwood, IA) in a SEI - North challenge, on Friday, January 31. Highland will attempt to improve on its 0-10 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 11-6 record after their 51-40 league win over Hillcrest Academy (Kalona, IA).
