Westbrook Knights (Westbrook, CT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting North Branford Thunderbirds (North Branford, CT), 52-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Westbrook upgrades its record to 5-8 on the season. The Knights host Portland (Portland, CT) to clash with the Highlanders in a Shoreline bout on Tuesday, February 1. The Highlanders go into the bout with a record of 7-6. Portland lost 51-50 in their recent league bout against Morgan (Clinton, CT)

Next up, the Thunderbirds clash with the Valley Regional Warriors (Deep River, CT) in a Shoreline bout, on Tuesday, February 1. North Branford will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 49-37 league win over Coginchaug Regional (Durham, CT).
