January 28, 2023: Murrysville, PA 15668 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Belle Vernon Leopards (Belle Vernon, PA) and the host Franklin Regional Panthers (Murrysville, PA), saw Belle Vernon's basketball squad overcome Franklin Regional by a tally of 66-52.
With the victory, Belle Vernon improves its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Leopards travel to North Hills (Pittsburgh, PA) to confront the Indians in a non-league challenge on Sunday, January 29. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 13-4. North Hills lost 73-72 in their recent league challenge against Mars (Mars, PA)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Kiski Area Cavaliers (Vandergrift, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Franklin Regional will attempt to improve on its 11-9 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 10-10 record after their 70-61 league loss to Greater Latrobe (Latrobe, PA).
