January 28, 2023: Long Lake, MN 55356 The Orono Spartans basketball team (Long Lake, MN), was overwhelmed 70-46 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Prior Lake Lakers (Prior Lake, MN)
The Lakers now possess a 7-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Burnsville for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 31. Prior Lake will battle a Blaze team coming off a 68-63 non-league loss to Sauk Rapids-Rice (Sauk Rapids, MN). The Blaze record now stands at 7-8.
The Spartans (8-5) will now prepare for their battle against Benilde-St. Margaret's (St. Louis Park, MN). The Red Knights come into the AAA Section 6 battle with a 12-3 record. In their last battle, Benilde-St. Margaret's trounced Academy of Holy Angels (Richfield, MN), 74-42, in a league battle.
