The Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs basketball team scored 40 points and held the host Central Bucks East Patriots to 37 in the Monarchs non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Monarchs now sport a 16-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nazareth Academy for a Catholic Academies contest on Tuesday, January 31. Gwynedd Mercy Academy will battle a team coming off a 50-36 non-league loss to Cardinal O'Hara (Springfield, PA). The record now stands at 8-8.

The Patriots (13-4) will now prepare for their contest against Pennridge (Perkasie, PA). The Rams enter the Suburban One - Continental contest with a 11-6 record. In their last contest, Pennridge was nudged by Souderton (Souderton, PA), 50-42, in a league contest.
