New York High School Basketball - Corning-Painted Post tops Midlakes
January 28, 2023: Corning, NY 14830 Corning-Painted Post Hawks (Corning, NY) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Midlakes Screaming Eagles (Clifton Springs, NY), 62-52 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Corning-Painted Post upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Horseheads (Horseheads, NY) to play the Blue Raiders in a Section 4 Southern Tier - West bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Blue Raiders come into the bout with a record of 5-5.
Next up, the Screaming Eagles play the Waterloo Indians (Waterloo, NY) in a Section 5 Finger Lakes - East bout, on Wednesday, February 1. Midlakes will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 10-1 record after their 62-57 league loss to Palmyra-Macedon (Palmyra, NY).
