Florida High School Basketball - Cypress Bay can't hold off Wellington
January 28, 2023: Weston, FL 33332 The Wellington Wolverines basketball team scored 56 points and held the host Cypress Bay Lightning to 54 in the Wolverines non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Wolverines now sport a 15-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Olympic Heights for a non-league contest on Wednesday, February 1. Wellington will battle a Lions team coming off a 65-22 non-league win over Jupiter Christian (Jupiter, FL). The Lions record now stands at 14-5.
The Lightning (11-4) will now prepare for their contest against Deerfield Beach (Deerfield Beach, FL). The Bucks enter the non-league contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Deerfield Beach nudged Blanche Ely (Pompano Beach, FL), 53-50, in a non-league contest.
