Louisiana High School Basketball - Pearl River thwarts Varnado
January 28, 2025: Pearl River, LA 70452 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Pearl River Rebels (Pearl River, LA) and the visiting Varnado Wildcats (Angie, LA), observed Pearl River's basketball team knock off Varnado by a score of 70-50.
The Rebels (15-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Archbishop Hannan (Covington, LA). The Hawks come into the 4A District 7 challenge with a 18-7 record. In their last challenge, Archbishop Hannan prevailed over Walker (Walker, LA), 58-42, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Wildcats encounter the Riverside Academy Rebels (Reserve, LA) in a 1A District 10 challenge, on Friday, January 31. Varnado will attempt to improve on its 6-10 season record.
