January 28, 2025: Luverne, MN 56156 Southwest Minnesota Christian Eagles (Edgerton, MN) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Luverne Cardinals (Luverne, MN), 68-56 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Southwest Minnesota Christian upgrades its record to 14-7 on the year. The Eagles travel to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (Tyler, MN) to face the Knights in a A Section 3 match on Thursday, January 30. The Knights enter the match with a record of 13-9.
The Cardinals now sport a 3-16 record. They put it on the line next when they host Adrian/Ellsworth for a non-league match on Friday, January 31. Luverne will face a Dragons squad coming off a 53-47 league loss to Hills-Beaver Creek (Hills, MN). The Dragons record now stands at 15-5.
