Michigan High School Basketball - Portage Central bests Marshall
January 28, 2025: Portage, MI 49002 The Portage Central Mustangs basketball team scored 51 points and limited the visiting Marshall Redhawks to 36 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Mustangs now possess a 8-4 record. They play next when they host St. Joseph for a Southwestern Michigan - West game on Thursday, January 30. Portage Central will play a Bears team coming off a 54-51 non-league loss to Niles (Niles, MI). The Bears record now stands at 7-2.
With the loss, Marshall falls to 9-3 on the campaign. The Redhawks host Pennfield (Battle Creek, MI) to play the Panthers in a Interstate 8 game on Friday, January 31. The Panthers go into the game with a record of 5-8. Pennfield won 42-22 in their recent non-league game against Union City (Union City, MI)
