The Elgin Comets (Marion, OH) basketball crushed the host Vanlue Wildcats (Vanlue, OH), 66-39 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Comets (12-4) will now prepare for their test against Fredericktown (Fredericktown, OH). The Freddies go into the non-league test with a 10-7 record. In their last test, Fredericktown walloped Liberty Union (Baltimore, OH), 61-43, in a non-league test.

The Wildcats now own a 3-12 record. They play next when they travel to St. Joseph Central Catholic for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 1. Vanlue will encounter a Crimson Streaks squad coming off a 47-40 league loss to St. Mary Central Catholic (Sandusky, OH). The Crimson Streaks record now stands at 4-12.
