South Dakota High School Basketball - Sioux Valley fells McCook Central/Montrose
January 29, 2022: Salem, SD 57058 Sioux Valley Cossacks (Volga, SD) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars (Salem, SD), 69-59 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Sioux Valley upgrades its record to 10-2 on the season. The Cossacks host Flandreau Indian (Flandreau, SD) to play the Indians in a A Region 2 bout on Tuesday, February 1. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 0-5. Flandreau Indian lost 71-44 in their recent non-league bout against Sisseton (Sisseton, SD)
Next up, the Fighting Cougars play the Parkston Trojans (Parkston, SD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 1. McCook Central/Montrose will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 7-8 record after their 83-35 non-league loss to West Central (Hartford, SD).
