Illinois High School Basketball - Putnam County can't hold off Wethersfield
January 29, 2022: Kewanee, IL 61443 The Putnam County Panthers basketball team (Granville, IL), was nudged 40-33 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Wethersfield Flying Geese (Kewanee, IL)
The Flying Geese now sport a 8-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Biggsville West Central for a Lincoln Trail battle on Monday, January 31. Wethersfield will battle a Heat team coming off a 53-41 league win over Mercer County (Aledo, IL). The Heat record now stands at 11-13.
The Panthers (12-15) will now prepare for their battle against Henry-Senachwine (Henry, IL). The Mallards come into the battle with a 15-8 record. In their last battle, Henry-Senachwine edged Stark County (Toulon, IL), 41-28, in a non-league battle.
