Hawley Nuggets (Hawley, MN) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Crookston Pirates (Crookston, MN), 47-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Hawley upgrades its record to 9-9 on the season. The Nuggets travel to Park Rapids (Park Rapids, MN) to clash with the Panthers in a AA Section 8 bout on Thursday, February 1. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 9-10. Park Rapids lost 53-41 in their recent non-league bout against Detroit Lakes (Detroit Lakes, MN)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines (Wadena, MN) in a AA Section 8 bout, on Saturday, February 3. Crookston will attempt to upgrade on its 3-17 season record.
