Northwestern Area Wildcats (Mellette, SD) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Waverly/South Shore Coyotes (Waverly, SD), 70-58 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Northwestern Area upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Ipswich (Ipswich, SD) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 4. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-1. Ipswich won 68-35 in their recent non-league bout against Wall (Wall, SD)

Next up, the Coyotes clash with the Leola/Frederick Titans (Leola, SD) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 8. Waverly/South Shore will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Titans go into the bout with a 0-4 record after their 53-43 league loss to Waubay/Summit (Waubay, SD).
