The Parkland Matadors basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting Anthony Wildcats to 43 in the Matadors non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Matadors now sport a 4-19 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ysleta for a 5A Region I District 2 contest on Friday, January 6. Parkland will battle a Indians team coming off a 45-40 non-league win over Fort Hancock (Fort Hancock, TX). The Indians record now stands at 11-8.

The Wildcats (7-13) will now prepare for their contest against Fort Hancock (Fort Hancock, TX). The Mustangs enter the 2A Region I District 6 contest with a 16-5 record. In their last contest, Fort Hancock was nudged by Ysleta (El Paso, TX), 45-40, in a non-league contest.
