The Tarpon Springs Spongers basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the host Hernando Leopards to 54 in the Spongers non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Spongers now sport a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Seminole for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 9. Tarpon Springs will battle a Warhawks team coming off a 43-21 non-league loss to Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL). The Warhawks record now stands at 6-4.

The Leopards (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against Osceola (Seminole, FL). The Warriors come into the non-league contest with a 6-6 record. In their last bout, Osceola held off Clearwater Central Catholic (Clearwater, FL), 51-49, in a non-league bout.
