Newark Reds (Newark, NY) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Penn Yan Academy Mustangs (Penn Yan, NY), 96-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newark upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Reds travel to Wayne (Ontario Center, NY) to play the Eagles in a Section 5 Finger Lakes - East bout on Friday, January 12. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 6-2.

Next up, the Mustangs play the South Seneca Falcons (Ovid, NY) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Penn Yan Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record.
