New York High School Basketball - Newtown tipped by Bayside
January 3, 2024: Bayside, NY 11361 The Bayside Commodores basketball team scored 40 points and held the visiting Newtown Pioneers to 33 in the Commodores non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Commodores now sport a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bowne for a PSAL AAAA Queens I contest on Friday, January 5. Bayside will meet a Wildcats team coming off a 59-35 non-league win over Lane (Brooklyn, NY). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-2.
The Pioneers (1-5) will now prepare for their contest against Jamaica (Jamaica, NY). The Beavers enter the non-league contest with a 3-4 record. In their last contest, Jamaica was nudged by Francis Lewis (Fresh Meadows, NY), 54-20, in a non-league contest.
