Virginia High School Basketball - Lakeland crushes Surry County
January 3, 2024: Dendron, VA 23839 Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Surry County Cougars (Dendron, VA), 58-32 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Lakeland upgrades its record to 2-5 on the season. The Cavaliers host Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA) to play the Hornets in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 4-0. Deep Creek won 88-46 in their recent non-league bout against Arcadia (Oak Hall, VA)
Next up, the Cougars play the Franklin Broncos (Franklin, VA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 8. Surry County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Broncos go into the bout with a 3-4 record after their 61-23 non-league win over Windsor (Windsor, VA).
