New York High School Basketball - Watervliet thwarts Catskill
January 3, 2025: Watervliet, NY 12189 The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Watervliet Cannoneers (Watervliet, NY) and the visiting Catskill Cats (Catskill, NY), observed Watervliet's basketball team knock off Catskill by a score of 52-42.
The Cannoneers (5-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Hoosick Falls (Hoosick Falls, NY). The Panthers come into the non-league challenge with a 6-1 record. In their last challenge, Hoosick Falls prevailed over Mount Anthony (Bennington, VT), 49-38, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Cats encounter the Maple Hill Wildcats (Castleton on Hudson, NY) in a Section 2 Patroon challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Catskill will attempt to improve on its 0-4 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 5-3 record after their 63-29 league win over Chatham (Chatham, NY).
