Wisconsin High School Basketball - Edgar can't hold off Lakeland
January 3, 2025: Minocqua, WI 54548 Lakeland Thunderbirds (Minocqua, WI) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Edgar Wildcats (Edgar, WI), 52-47 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Lakeland advances its record to 4-6 on the year. The Thunderbirds travel to Tomahawk (Tomahawk, WI) to face the Hatchets in a Great Northern match on Tuesday, January 7. The Hatchets enter the match with a record of 3-5.
The Wildcats now own a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Athens for a non-league match on Thursday, January 9. Edgar will face a Bluejays squad coming off a 73-55 league loss to Chequamegon (Park Falls, WI). The Bluejays record now stands at 1-7.
