The Marquette Mustangs basketball squad (Chesterfield, MO), was nudged 65-64 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Howell Central Spartans (St. Charles, MO)

With the victory, Howell Central advances its record to 5-6 on the year. The Spartans travel to Fort Zumwalt West (O'Fallon, MO) to meet the Jaguars in a Gateway - South battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Jaguars enter the battle with a record of 3-1.

The Mustangs now own a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Eureka for a Suburban - Yellow battle on Friday, January 10.
