January 3, 2025: Goldsboro, NC 27530 The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Wayne Country Day Chargers (Goldsboro, NC) and the visiting John Paul II Catholic Saints (Greenville, NC), observed Wayne Country Day's basketball team overwhelm John Paul II Catholic by a score of 69-38.
The Chargers (17-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Cape Fear Academy (Wilmington, NC). The Hurricanes come into the NCISAA Coastal Plain challenge with a 9-9 record. In their last challenge, Cape Fear Academy trounced Southeastern Christian Academy (Shallotte, NC), 57-48, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Saints encounter the Wayne Christian Eagles (Goldsboro, NC) in a NCISAA Coastal Plain challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. John Paul II Catholic will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 2-8 record after their 59-48 non-league loss to North Duplin (Calypso, NC).
