Georgia High School Basketball - Athens Academy routs Stephens County
January 3, 2025: Toccoa, GA 30577 In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Athens Academy Spartans basketball team scored a big 64-34 triumph over the Stephens County Indians.
The Spartans (10-3) will now prepare for their contest against Oglethorpe County (Lexington, GA). The Patriots go into the A D1 Region 8 contest with a 3-9 record. In their last contest, Oglethorpe County was trounced by Loganville (Loganville, GA), 44-27, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Indians confront the Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA) in a AA Region 8 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Stephens County will attempt to better on its 2-12 season record. The Lions go into the contest with a 6-8 record after their 64-46 non-league loss to Jasper County (Monticello, GA).
