January 3, 2025: Carlsbad, CA 92009 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the La Costa Canyon Mavericks (Carlsbad, CA) and the visiting Mira Mesa Marauders (San Diego, CA), observed La Costa Canyon's basketball team overwhelm Mira Mesa by a score of 45-24.
The Mavericks (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Escondido (Escondido, CA). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 0-7 record. In their last challenge, Escondido was routed by Escondido Charter (Escondido, CA), 57-7, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Marauders battle the Otay Ranch Mustangs (Chula Vista, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 4. Mira Mesa will attempt to improve on its 5-5 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 23-15 non-league loss to Academy of Our Lady of Peace (San Diego, CA).
